Feng Tianlin could no longer bear to watch and waved his hand, “Let me handle this. I know some Sunset language.” He strode forward, much to the astonishment of the three, and came face-to-face with the Oracle, who was clutching a human arm and feasting, blood smeared around his mouth. Seeing Feng Tianlin approach, the Oracle appeared flustered and uncertain.

Feng Tianlin gestured to show he meant no harm and, in fluent Sunset language, said, “Greetings. I have no ill intentions. I merely wish to ask you a few questions.”

His words stunned everyone present. No one expected this unlucky fellow to speak such fluent foreign tongue; the three Oracles were equally astonished.

They hailed from the ancient Sunset people, a time when, due to the existence of bizarre creatures, there had been no interaction between Huaxia and the Sunset Kingdom. Thus, they had never encountered anyone from Huaxia before and could only surmise Feng Tianlin and his companions were people of the East.

Now, seeing an Eastern man who spoke their language so well, how could they not be shocked?

“Greetings, Eastern man. My name is Helis. What questions do you have?” Helis set aside the arm he had been holding and spoke in a gentle tone.

Feng Tianlin breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the language of the Sunset Kingdom was the same as that of the Dayless Kingdom from his previous life. Fortunately, he had once studied the Dayless tongue; it had seemed useless before, but now, it proved invaluable.

“Nothing major. I just wanted to ask if you recognize this train.”

The Oracle shook his head. “I don't understand what you're referring to.” He couldn't comprehend the word for train.

Feng Tianlin understood then—this was a person from the Era of the Bizarre.

So the question arose: people from the Era of the Bizarre boarded the train half a year ago, while modern folks boarded a year ago. How could this be? The timelines simply didn't match.

“Feng Tianlin, what did he say?” Bai Bu Chun poked at Feng Tianlin, who was deep in thought.

“He doesn’t recognize the train. So he must be from ancient times, specifically the Era of the Bizarre,” Feng Tianlin replied, his head still bowed.

“Ancient people!” The three were shocked. How was this possible? According to their earlier deductions, a day equaled a year; if ancient people boarded, it would have taken hundreds of thousands of years, yet these so-called ancients boarded later than Bai Bu Chun. What was going on?

Suddenly, Bai Bu Chun slapped his thigh. “I get it! It’s not a day equals a year at all—this train is traversing through time and space! The space outside isn’t void; it’s a temporal tunnel!”

His words awakened everyone from their stupor; after pondering, they all found it plausible.

If the space outside was a temporal tunnel, and the journey from modern to the Era of the Bizarre took half a year, then everything made sense.

At that moment, Dumb Bird and Thin Turtle finally remembered the captain, who had been sitting silently in his seat. They hurried over to inform him of the discovery. But as soon as they approached, they realized something was wrong. Why was their captain just sitting there, head bowed, doing nothing? Was he asleep?

Dumb Bird walked over and shook him, but Raccoon gave no response.

“Captain, we’ve made a new discovery. Wake up!” Dumb Bird urged, but Raccoon remained motionless. Dumb Bird sensed something was amiss and cautiously reached out, feeling a chilling cold. Raccoon's body collapsed.

Dumb Bird could not sense any trace of life from Raccoon’s body. He turned with difficulty to Thin Turtle.

“The captain is dead!”

At his words, everyone on the train looked over. None were ordinary people; their hearing was exceptional, and boredom made them interested in a sudden death.

At that moment, Bai Bu Chun immediately pinned Feng Tianlin to the ground. “I’ve suspected you for a while! Why were you able to board when the train didn’t call you?”

Feng Tianlin no longer bothered to pretend; he had indeed killed Raccoon, though under the illusion of the Phantom Eye, no one had noticed. His human face began to distort and shrink, becoming smaller and smaller until he transformed into a grotesque doll.

This sinister doll sent a chill through everyone’s heart.

“He’s the Nightmare Doll! The mastermind behind Well City! And he controls spatial power—if we catch him, we might be able to escape!” Dumb Bird immediately pointed at Feng Tianlin and shouted.

Except for the few Huaxia people, the others could not understand his words, but everyone realized that this bizarre creature had violated the rules and entered their carriage. This doll was trouble.

Seeing everyone’s hostile gaze, Feng Tianlin was unfazed and instead grinned wickedly.

“You little things think you can capture me?”

As he spoke, a surge of frigid air spread out. Bai Bu Chun had no time to evade and was instantly turned into a human-shaped ice sculpture.

Everyone was stunned. They hadn't expected a bizarre creature to invade their domain and murder someone in front of them—an outright insult.

The three Oracles closest to Feng Tianlin were the first to attack, golden light emanating from their hands as they lunged at him.

But their meager strength was nothing to Feng Tianlin. He merely snorted coldly, his left eye flashing, causing the two Oracles to attack each other.

Before the others could react, Feng Tianlin had already reached the door of carriage number three and entered.

“Did the doll just escape?” Dumb Bird was dazed.

But in the next moment, the doll reappeared, this time accompanied by a beautiful young maiden and a burly white man resembling an uncle.

These two entered the carriage, scanning the passengers with fierce expressions.

Three minutes later, the carriage was awash in blood, leaving only five anomalous beings alive.

Feng Tianlin stepped forward, puzzled. “Why did you spare them?”

Qi Xuan shook her head and pointed at Bolangen. “He wouldn’t let me kill them.”

Bolangen explained, “They claim to be anomalous beings and are willing to reveal a secret.”

A secret? Feng Tianlin’s lips curled into a smile; secrets were his favorite. Using Beacon language, he asked, “Let’s hear it. What secret?”

The five anomalous beings were surprised that this Huaxia man not only spoke Sunset language but also Beacon language. Nevertheless, they responded.

“We are anomalous beings and have already spread throughout Beacon Country. Once we reach a certain objective, we can overthrow the government!”

Feng Tianlin picked his nose. “And then?”

“Then, we can cooperate. It would be difficult for you to deal with Huaxia alone, but with our help, it would be easy!”

No sooner had he spoken than his body was cleaved in two. The remaining four fell in the same manner.

Even so, anomalous beings were tenacious; though their bodies were split, they did not die immediately.

They struggled to rise, but Feng Tianlin stepped on them.

“Why? Why kill us?”

“Because you’re useless to me, and frankly, I find you disgusting.”

Feng Tianlin arched a brow. These wretched creatures offended him; their deaths meant nothing.
