Chapter Ninety-Six: Initiating the Nationwide Cultivation Mode
“While none of you knew, I alone have borne the fate of the entire Earth on my shoulders.” Bluetian glanced down at the crowd below, then turned solemnly toward the live broadcast equipment.
“What I am about to do is for the sake of the whole Earth and all its people. I do not want anyone to come forward and stop me.”
“Nonsense! You’re acting out of selfish desire, wanting to turn Earth into your private backyard! You tyrant!” Amid Bluetian’s speech, a sharp, piercing voice suddenly broke out from below.
“Heh, Ms. Lawrence, if I’m not mistaken, you must be the wife of the Chief Justice.” With White’s prompt, Bluetian immediately identified her. “I’m sorry for your husband’s death, but that is no reason for you to question me.”
After speaking, Bluetian pointed his finger, ending Ms. Lawrence’s life.
“Don’t look at me like that. Yes, I have killed again.” Bluetian said slowly, expressionless. Perhaps influenced by Yan Ze’s azure blood, he had grown cold. “You consider killing a sin, but do you know that in the universe, to be able to die might also be a blessing?”
“What?”
“What do you mean?!”
“What does it mean that death in the universe could be happiness? Are there really aliens out there?” Hearing Bluetian’s words, almost everyone grasped the hidden meaning.
Facing their bewilderment, Bluetian made no attempt to confuse them. With a wave of his hand, the cosmic star map marked by White appeared behind him, hovering over Capitol Hill.
Then White’s figure appeared, beginning an explanation. As he spoke, the backdrop shifted: cosmic cultivators who could traverse the universe with their physical bodies, various cosmic armor, starships, vast interstellar nations, countless slave planets, and innumerable cosmic mysteries all unfolded before the eyes of Earth’s inhabitants. In an overwhelming display, their millennia-old worldview, values, and philosophy of life were utterly shattered.
“This is Earth’s place in the universe. The Earth’s natives are as insignificant as dust...” With White’s narration complete, he vanished. Were it not for Bluetian, White would never have wished to engage with these ignorant natives.
At that moment, Earth fell into stunned silence.
Before this, who could have imagined that a single cosmic cultivator’s age could surpass the entire history of human development? Who could have imagined that Earth’s proud technology was utterly insignificant in the universe? Who could have imagined that Earth, which arrogantly claimed to be the center of the universe, was so remote that it was almost unnoticed? And who could have imagined that once cosmic powers discover Earth, it could instantly lose sovereignty, becoming another’s colonial or even slave planet? Yet the nations of Earth still sent signals into space, desperately seeking alien civilizations—a foolhardy act akin to lighting a lantern to invite death.
No one dared to imagine the nightmare future where Earth’s champions of freedom and democracy become slaves, bound for generations.
“So... do you now understand Earth’s predicament?” After a long silence, Bluetian spoke.
Seeing everyone remain silent, he continued, “Without exaggeration, my current strength is invincible on Earth. Alone, I could destroy the entire planet with some time. Surely no one would oppose that?”
“But even with my power, I have only just touched the threshold of cosmic cultivators. I am not even a true cosmic cultivator. Any strong cosmic cultivator could shatter Earth with a single blow.”
“Humanity no longer stands atop a pyramid; rather, Earth is at the very bottom of the cosmic hierarchy.”
“And yet you remain ignorant, still naive—perhaps, in another sense, this is a kind of happiness?”
“But now that you know the truth, can you continue as before? Can you go on chasing fame and profit, indulging in pleasure, drifting through life as if nothing has changed?”
“Soon, the training chambers in the virtual network will open. All basic cultivation methods will be made available to everyone. This is the opportunity I have created for you—a chance to connect with the universe. Before long, I will journey alone into the cosmos to secure more advanced methods for you. I hope that my fellow Earthlings can become part of the universe, rather than remain mere natives.”
“Now, who wants access to my virtual network?”
No one answered, all eyes fixed on Bluetian with fervent intensity.
“Since no one objects, so be it.” Bluetian smiled, then used his mental power to lift everyone into the air and transport them to land. The vast Capitol Hill was thrown directly into the sea. “I hold grudges; this is the price America must pay.”
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Bluetian shot upward, then suddenly accelerated, speeding eastward.
...
In the next moment, all work around the globe ground to a halt. The entire global network crashed!
Everyone went mad as speculation about “cosmic cultivators” flooded the internet. Bluetian’s words struck like a bomb, shattering everyone’s worldview.
Surprisingly, after learning their plight, people did not become despondent as Bluetian had feared. Instead, curiosity about the universe blossomed. Those with virtual network access helmets immediately logged on. When the training chambers lit up, they eagerly entered and began their first cultivation.
With time running short before his departure from Earth, Bluetian abandoned previous plans and opened the training chambers to all.
White had put considerable effort into the training chambers. Every newcomer underwent a specialized assessment to determine cultivation aptitude. If aptitude was low, the system would automatically present low-level cultivation methods suited to them. These methods were mostly for health and fitness, with limited efficacy, allowing at best to reach the first level of human energy gathering.
Those with sufficient aptitude would receive tailored cultivation methods matching their talent. These were far superior, potentially enabling practitioners to reach the fifth level of energy gathering, roughly equivalent to limb strengthening. If Bluetian later acquired more advanced methods in the cosmos, they could switch directly without starting over.
Earth had entered a new era—a mode of cultivation for all.
