Next, Yuan Hao’s Weibo followers went mad! Again and again, they clicked on that video, which seemed straight out of a science fiction film. Everyone felt their scalp tingling and their bodies trembling. If this video was real, then the virtual network was undoubtedly the greatest invention in human history—bar none.
In fact, it could no longer be called a virtual network; it was a virtual world.
As Yuan Hao’s Weibo exploded with new followers, the comments beneath his post erupted as well. Hundreds of thousands, millions, then tens of millions of comments surged within just a few minutes!
No one could contain their surging, complicated emotions. They posted comment after comment, some so excited they lost control, sending dozens or even hundreds of comments before running out of words altogether. In the end, they could only express themselves with a string of “Ahhhhhhh!”s.
Interestingly, these primal cries seemed to capture some fundamental truth. That “Ahhhhhhh!” comment received unanimous approval, and after a round of copy-pasting, the comment section was flooded with nothing but “Ahhhhhhh!”
Soon after, other lucky individuals who had received the virtual network access helmet began to speak up, confirming the authenticity of the video. Some even stated that the video barely scratched the surface of the virtual network. “Heroic Glory” was the true marvel—a game where suddenly possessing superhuman power left every participant utterly entranced!
Half an hour, an hour—the entire planet was swept up in frenzy!
Most of the fortunate ones with the virtual network access helmet had no time to pay attention to the online commotion, utterly lost in this brand new world. A few, like Yuan Hao, after posting a video, dived right back into the virtual network and were unlikely to emerge any time soon.
And so, Yuan Hao became famous. As the first to experience the virtual network and share a video online, he truly caught fire.
Weibo aside, his number of followers now surpassed most celebrities—only a handful of superstars could compare. Even overseas, his video was spreading like wildfire. People everywhere were looping the video from every possible source. If one were to tally the numbers, the total views across all platforms had already reached a staggering fifty billion!
This was a global internet feast—and a dirge.
For it marked the pinnacle of the original internet’s glory, while sounding the prelude to its decline.

Blue God!
That was now the name everyone used for Blue Sky. Everyone knew that Earth was about to enter the era of virtual civilization, and the creator of that era, Blue Sky, had been elevated to the altar. All previous voices of dissent had vanished, replaced by songs of praise. In the eyes of the world’s populace, his reputation was unrivaled—greater than any ancient sage, even called a god.
Already handsome and charming, Blue Sky was now crowned with this title, instantly becoming the most dazzling figure in the eyes of every single woman on Earth. Some enterprising souls investigated and concluded that Blue God was now the planet’s most eligible bachelor. Though his wealth did not rank among the world’s richest, even the global tycoons would not dare posture before him—for if Blue God ever desired money, the whole world would pay up!
This was no exaggeration. Everyone understood the situation. The virtual network access helmet sold for 888 yuan, the annual usage fee was 1000 yuan—a price so cheap it was almost laughable, especially since this was in Chinese currency; converted to dollars or euros, it was dirt cheap!
Even multiplied by ten, most people would pay without hesitation. Multiply it by a hundred, and eager buyers would still flock like fish in a river.
So, everyone knew: Blue God deserved his title.
“Hey, Blue God! The Blue God for men, the male idol for women!” In the virtual network company’s chairman’s office, Wang Ling sat carelessly in Blue Sky’s chair, browsing online comments, casting sidelong glances at him. She had already recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
“Haha, thank you for the compliments, but I dare not accept such praise,” Blue Sky replied with a smile, handing her a peeled apple.
“Tut tut, an apple peeled by Blue God himself—if you put this up for auction, it’d fetch quite a sum. I can’t bear to eat it~” Wang Ling joked as she took the apple.
“Oh, you’re getting cheeky! If you won’t eat it, I will.” Blue Sky pretended to snatch the apple back.
“Hehe, I’ll eat it, I’ll eat it.” Wang Ling took a bite, then mischievously held out the bitten side. “Do you want a bite?”
“Should I understand this as… you’re teasing me?” Blue Sky looked at the apple with a peculiar expression.
“So, will you eat it?” Wang Ling’s cheeks flushed as she looked boldly at him, her charming manner causing Blue Sky’s heart to flutter.

Blue Sky didn’t hesitate in the slightest. Regardless of the office setting, he embraced her and kissed her passionately.
Only when their breathing grew labored did Blue Sky reluctantly pull away, grinning with satisfaction. “That’s what happens when you tease me~”
“Ugh, scoundrel!” Wang Ling spat, then grew serious. “Enough fooling around. My dad said he wants you, plus uncle and aunt, to come over for dinner tonight. Are you free?”
“Ah, the father-in-law’s summons—I must make time.” Blue Sky was taken aback, then delighted. It was the first time Wang Ling’s father had formally invited him to their home. No matter how busy he was, he would definitely go.
“Ugh! Who’s your father-in-law?! Shameless!” Wang Ling blushed furiously, stamping her feet again and again.
The truth was, he had indeed been incredibly busy. Every day, countless invitations arrived at the company, and equally countless people wanted to visit. The security staff had already tripled in number, but still couldn’t keep out the legions of frenzied fans; often, some would slip through and ask Blue Sky for autographs and photos.
Of course, when dealing with these well-meaning fans, Blue Sky found them a bit much, but never put on airs. Except for those who clamored about wanting to have his children, he did his best to satisfy the others.
As for the invitations, at first Blue Sky was interested—he’d never attended high-end banquets before—but after a few, he found them all the same: just drinking and idle chatter. He quickly lost interest and left it all to Fan Ming.
Fan Ming, for his part, enjoyed it immensely. Now a hot commodity worldwide, he received respect from everyone he met, which greatly satisfied even the most modest vanity in someone who’d never cared about fame.
