Chapter 96: The Inevitable Unwelcome Guest 2.0
Downstairs, Liang Qisheng’s stretched Lincoln had been waiting for quite some time. The four of them swept off together toward the hottest club in S City, Max Pub.
Along the way, only Nan Yu and Yin Mi’er were chatting animatedly. Lin Zhiwei looked irritable and ill at ease; dressed like this made her feel unbearably uncomfortable. She had the sense that if she moved even slightly, the clothes would come apart, so she could only sit properly with a frown, rigidly composed.
Liang Qisheng kept stealing glances at her. The little fairy wore a sulky expression that matched her outfit perfectly tonight. It was simply too stunning, like a dark, domineering queen. Add a whip to that image and it would be... no, stop. What on earth was he thinking?
The instant they entered the club, all four became the center of attention. The eyes of the private booths and dance floor all turned toward them.
“Damn, where did those two beautiful women come from? I’ve never seen them before. They can’t be regulars, right? They’re insanely gorgeous.”
“The one in red is already shocking enough, but the one in black behind her is pure goddess-level beauty mixed with dark queen vibes. I could honestly just keep looking at them forever...”
“Don’t you think the beauty in red looks a lot like some celebrity from years ago? What was her name... what was it... oh, I forgot.”
“With those looks, they’ve already outclassed a lot of actresses in the entertainment industry now.”
“Should we go talk to them?”
“Dream on. Didn’t you see they brought bodyguards? One in pink, one in blue, like two great guardians. They must be low-key rich heirs here for a rare night out.”
...
Nan Yu pouted in annoyance. Damn, they actually called him a bodyguard? At the very least, he was the supporting cast, all right?
All evening, Lin Zhiwei remained highly vigilant, scanning her surroundings and paying close attention to whether any danger lurked nearby. Fortunately, Yin Mi’er was at the center of the dance floor, protected by Nan Yu and Liang Qisheng. No other men could get close. The three of them were shaking their heads and bodies to the music, having the time of their lives.
After fending off the fourth wave of men trying to strike up a conversation, Lin Zhiwei finally had a chance to breathe. She ordered a gin and lazily hung her head, bored to death.
“Xiao Lin, why aren’t you dancing?” Nan Yu was bouncing with excitement, then gulped down a large bottle of beer and shouted loudly.
Lin Zhiwei covered one ear and waved a hand. “You guys have fun. I’m keeping watch.”
Seeing that Lin Zhiwei had no interest in joining in, Nan Yu sensibly disappeared back into the dance floor.
Yin Mi’er was just starting to feel she'd had enough when she noticed Lin Zhiwei drinking alone in a sulk. She swayed over to her side. “What’s wrong? Feeling stifled? Let’s go outside and get some air.”
“Okay.” Lin Zhiwei agreed readily. The deafening music and roaring crowd were almost shattering her eardrums, and since it happened to be the busiest hour, the club was practically as hot and suffocating as a sauna.
Yin Mi’er helped Lin Zhiwei out of Max Pub. Inside was all glittering lights and wine and song, but outside it was cold and quiet. The two pulled their coats closer and leaned against a wall a little way off, chatting.
“Tonight was really so much fun, haha. I haven’t been this wild in a long time.” Yin Mi’er’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Such unrestrained, unguarded immersion was an experience she hadn’t had in many years.
Lin Zhiwei looked at her with relief. “Happiness matters most. Maybe once you slowly start taking on shows in the future, you won’t be this free anymore.”
“Yeah.” Yin Mi’er lowered her head. No matter whether the upcoming performance went as planned, she would be pushed into the center of a storm. That Ye woman probably wouldn’t let her off either.
A few figures moved in the distance. Several swaying silhouettes, mingled with a nauseating stench of alcohol, slowly approached them. Lin Zhiwei sensed the abnormal air, put an arm around Yin Mi’er’s shoulder, and lowered her voice. “Let’s go back.”
“Heh, trying to leave? Little beauties, where do you think you’re going?” Along with a sinister, hoarse voice, four men gradually emerged under the lights. The fat, short blond-haired one in front was already moving toward them with a greasy, lecherous grin.
Lin Zhiwei shielded Yin Mi’er behind her. Her eyes were bright, completely fearless. Only four of them. Easy.
“Little girls, it’s deserted out here. Do you really think the two of you can get away?” The blond-haired man burst out laughing after speaking.
“Got the wrong target? No, it’s her. Boss said to teach her a lesson.” A young man with red hair glanced at Yin Mi’er and leaned close to the blond-haired man’s ear to whisper.
The blond-haired man slowly drew nearer. Once he could make out their faces by the dim yellow streetlight, he clapped his hands and laughed. “The boss really knows how to treat us. This is buy one, get one free. These two girls are actually quite a catch. Rarely do we get to see such fine goods. Looks like the brothers are in for some fun tonight.”
“Vivi.” Yin Mi’er trembled behind Lin Zhiwei. These guys were obviously local thugs from this area, not easy to deal with.
“Don’t be scared. I said I’d be your bodyguard. Trust me.” Lin Zhiwei’s steady voice reached her, and Yin Mi’er calmed down a little. She remembered Lin Zhiwei’s skills and nodded.
“Little girl, since you’re standing in front, we’ll start with you. Will you take it off yourself, or should I help you?” The blond-haired man leered as he reached out, intending to touch Lin Zhiwei’s face.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Zhiwei had seized his vital point. A heel kick landed squarely in his groin. He collapsed to the ground in pain, clutching himself and whining angrily. “You filthy bitch, you dare... dare hit me? Brothers, get her!”
At once, the remaining three surrounded Lin Zhiwei and Yin Mi’er against the wall. All three had assumed fighting stances. The cruelty and lust in their eyes could not be hidden, and they advanced with obscene, smug grins.
Lin Zhiwei calmly removed her coat. The backless gown she wore was now fully revealed. The three men’s eyes flashed at once. The woman before them had skin as white as snow and beauty beyond reproach. They glanced at one another, relaxed their guard, and stared at her in a daze.
She placed her coat into Yin Mi’er’s hands and instructed softly, “Mi’er, be good and cover your eyes.”
“Vi... Vivi...” Yin Mi’er’s heart swelled with worry. There were three of them. Could Vivi really handle this alone?
“Ha, little beauty, being this eager to throw yourself at us is more like it. The brothers are all ready.” The red-haired man clicked his belt loose.
Lin Zhiwei shook her head and gave him a cold look. What a death wish. She kicked off the heels that were hindering her movement, then moved like lightning to the left side of the red-haired man, chopping hard at the left side of his neck with a palm strike. At the same time, she launched a flying kick straight into his companion beside him. The two had no time to react; both were struck and crashed into each other. The man on the other side charged viciously toward her, but Lin Zhiwei bent low to evade, then sent a back kick straight into the back of his head.
