Chapter 94: Uninvited Guest
The two of them spent the day happily watching shows and snacking, while enthusiastically discussing Ling Ziheng’s films. Before they knew it, night had fallen.
“My goodness, I’m stuffed. It’s been so long since I’ve enjoyed such a comfortable day,” Yin Mier said as she flopped onto the sofa, brimming with emotion.
“That’s exactly why I wanted you to relax today, knowing full well that you’ll be under immense pressure in the future. So enjoy it while you can,” Lin Zhiwei replied, slicing fruit.
A rapid knock sounded at the door. Lin Zhiwei hurriedly took a bite of watermelon, grabbed the knife, and went to answer it. Which heartless, blind, ill-timed intruder had chosen this moment to ruin her date with the girl?
When she opened the door and saw Nan Yu and Liang Qisheng, her expression turned instantly sour.
The two of them, upon seeing Lin Zhiwei standing there with a knife in hand and murder in her eyes, were utterly bewildered.
Seeing that Lin Zhiwei had restored her original appearance, Liang Qisheng immediately looked lovestruck. So excited he could hardly speak, he stammered, “L-little fairy...”
“Use my name. I wasn’t raised on dew,” Lin Zhiwei snapped irritably.
“Little Lin, come out and have some fun with us. We just went to the studio to find you, and Xiao Yu said you were off today,” Nan Yu hurriedly explained. Unlike the foolish Liang beside him, who became tongue-tied at the sight of a beauty, he at least had some sense.
“Nope. I already have plans today.” Lin Zhiwei was about to close the door.
“Vivi, who is it?” Yin Mier’s voice came from inside.
“Damn it, Little Lin, you’re hiding a beauty in here!” Nan Yu darted inside like a shot, entering before Lin Zhiwei could even stop him. Liang Qisheng followed with a smile.
With a resigned sigh, Lin Zhiwei shut the door. What a ridiculous mess. Those two idiots had barged in and completely ruined the rhythm of her date.
“Wow. Miss, I’ve seen you before. You were the one I saved with Little Lin that day.” The moment Nan Yu saw the person inside, love lit up in his eyes at once. This girl was absolutely his type—gentle and lovely, yet still graceful, spirited, and alluring.
Liang Qisheng, on the other hand, had no reaction whatsoever. She wasn’t even as pretty as his little fairy.
“What are you two, robbers breaking into someone’s house?” Lin Zhiwei said through gritted teeth, arms folded, fury written all over her face.
“Oh come on, Little Lin, don’t be so hot-tempered.” Nan Yu sat down beside Yin Mier, smiling broadly.
Yin Mier looked from the two men to Lin Zhiwei and still could not quite make sense of the situation.
“The idiot next to you is Nan Yu, my bodyguard. And this gentleman, Young Master Liang, is my friend,” Lin Zhiwei introduced quickly. “This is my woman, Yin Mier. If either of you has any improper ideas, then heh heh...” Her face darkened as she made a menacing gesture with the knife.
“Absolutely not, absolutely not.” Nan Yu hurriedly moved to sit a full arm’s length away from Yin Mier.
Yin Mier could not help but laugh. Nan Yu looked at the girl beside him, at that charming, faint smile, and was instantly as dazed as if he had been drunk. Ah, so the goddess could smile this beautifully.
“All right, you two. If you have something to say, say it. If not, leave. I still need to enjoy life with my Mier,” Lin Zhiwei said, moving to usher them out.
“Hey, don’t keep cooped up at home. Come out and have some fun with us. We’ve been in Hua Country for quite a while and haven’t gone out to play once,” Nan Yu said with a pout, his face full of resentment. “Little Lin, this is exploitation. The employee benefits here are terrible.”
“Then it just so happens that Young Master Liang is here. Wouldn’t it be perfect for the two of you to go out together?” Lin Zhiwei was utterly unmoved.
“What’s there to do with just the two of us? You two are the right number. Come with us. A man and a woman make a good team; work is never tiring that way,” Nan Yu said, while secretly signaling Liang Qisheng.
Liang Qisheng immediately understood and took over. “Yes, this is a rare chance. Vivi, do me a favor and come out with us. I’ll be returning to M Country after a while.”
Just as Lin Zhiwei was wavering, Yin Mier generously said, “Vivi, it’s fine. Since they’re both here, it should be safe enough. Let’s go.”
“All right then. Where are we going?” Now that her beauty had spoken, Lin Zhiwei no longer objected.
“Of course we’re going to the most amazing pub in all of S City and having a wild night!” Nan Yu sprang up in excitement, fists clenched.
“Wild your head. Don’t be ridiculous,” Lin Zhiwei shot him a glare. “Mier is a public figure, after all. And you want to drag her to a place like that?”
Nan Yu clicked his tongue. “Oh, Little Lin, in a dim place like that, everyone dresses up. Who’s going to recognize whom?”
Yin Mier nodded, her eyes turning thoughtful. “That does make sense. Actually, if we dress up and blend in, we’ll stand out less. We’d only need to change the makeup a little. I’ve been hidden away for so many years that I honestly don’t have much public attention anymore.” She finished and gave Nan Yu a slight nod.
Nan Yu seemed to be struck straight in the heart. Ah, this was what a little fairy was supposed to be like. Beautiful, kind, and good-hearted.
Lin Zhiwei folded her arms, her expression solemn, like a stern adult facing three children begging for ice cream. “Mier, are you sure you want to go?”
Yin Mier’s cheeks flushed faintly, but she could not hide her interest. “I’ve never been before, and I’m actually quite curious. Besides, with Nan Yu and Young Master Liang here today, the four of us together will definitely be safe.”
“All right then.” Lin Zhiwei declared her surrender. Since everyone else had no objections, she would not keep stopping them. She was only agreeing because she did not want to spoil her girl’s mood.
“Yes!” Nan Yu bounced with excitement.
Liang Qisheng also nodded with unmistakable anticipation.
“The timing is perfect. It’s only eight o’clock. Mier and I will go change. As for you two... where are your clothes?” Lin Zhiwei’s gaze swept over them. The two men were still dressed in loose, sloppy athletic wear. They looked nothing like people heading out for a night on the town.
Ding-dong. The doorbell rang.
Nan Yu looked smug. “Aren’t they already here?” He hurried off to open the door.
“You prepared all this?” Lin Zhiwei turned to Liang Qisheng.
Liang Qisheng lifted his chin, full of pride. “This little thing? No problem.”
Lin Zhiwei shook her head. They had clearly prepared everything long ago, just waiting for the women to agree.
In an instant, two men in black came in carrying bags upon bags of clothes, jewelry, and shoes, piling them all over Lin Zhiwei’s sofa until it was completely buried.
Lin Zhiwei looked at the dazzling array of luxury goods and coughed lightly. “We’re just going out to have some fun. Was all this really necessary?”
“Absolutely. If I, Young Master Liang, am throwing a party, then it has to be high-end, grand, and top-tier.”
Heh. Lin Zhiwei twitched the corners of her mouth. What a pair of troublemakers.
Yin Mier stared at the various gowns with obvious astonishment, then said graciously, “Thank you, Young Master Liang.”
Liang Qisheng waved a hand grandly. “No need to be polite. It’s nothing at all. Pick whatever you like, both of you. It’s all for you.”
“Oh, Little Lin, why are you suddenly so timid? We’re just going out to have some fun. As long as the four of us dress up like decent human beings, who’s going to know who’s who?” Nan Yu said, spreading his hands when he noticed Lin Zhiwei’s doubtful expression.
“Who are you calling a dog...” Lin Zhiwei said darkly.
“It’s just a figure of speech. All right, let’s begin. Hahaha, tonight I’m going to blow the roof off the whole place.”
With that, Nan Yu dragged Liang Qisheng off to choose clothes.
Yin Mier looped her arm through Lin Zhiwei’s and smiled. The two of them picked out a few outfits of their own and went back to their room to get ready.
