Chapter Sixty-Four: Sever Hands, Sever Feet!
“Heh heh, Lord Rabbit, what brings you here in person?”
Zhang Black Hair bowed and scraped, speaking obsequiously, “If you need anything from me, just send a message or make a call. There’s no need for you to come all the way here yourself…”
“Who said I was here to see you?”
Lord Rabbit interrupted coldly.
He looked ahead at Ye Wushang, still haunted by lingering fear. Ever since he’d taken Ye Wushang’s medicine, his health had improved tremendously. What’s more, the functions of his body seemed to undergo subtle but profound changes—he was eager to continue the treatment. As soon as he withdrew five million in cash from the bank, he rushed straight here.
Right now, Ye Wushang was like a deity in his heart. Anyone who dared show him disrespect, Lord Rabbit would defend with everything he had.
“You’re not here for me?”
Zhang Black Hair was dumbfounded.
With his status, he was the only one present who qualified to interact with Lord Rabbit. Was he perhaps being used as a go-between to contact someone else?
It wasn’t exactly what he’d hoped for, but as long as he could be of help, maybe there would be opportunities for him in the future.
“I see, you want me to connect you with someone, right? In that case, just wait a moment. Let me deal with this guy first, then—”
Slap!
He hadn’t finished speaking when Lord Rabbit suddenly struck him, delivering a vicious slap across his face.
“Lord Rabbit, what are you doing?”
“I just wanted to settle things here before we have a proper conversation. If you can’t wait—”
“Enough!”
Lord Rabbit glared at him, gritting his teeth. “You still intend to mess with Mister Ye? If you so much as lay a finger on him, I’ll wipe out your entire family!”
Boom!
The words crashed down like a thunderbolt, shocking everyone to the core.
Zhang Black Hair stared in disbelief—he was actually addressing that little bastard as Mister Ye?
And threatening him, no less?
“What’s going on here?”
“Is Lord Rabbit here for Ye Wushang?”
“One is a figure of immense power, the other an obscure nobody. How could these two possibly be connected?”
“Wait, when Lord Rabbit arrived, he told us to wait—that was to stop Ye Wushang from kneeling!”
“So, what exactly is the relationship between them?”
The onlookers were baffled, whispering and arguing in confusion.
Oppressed by Lord Rabbit’s overwhelming presence, even the underlings—among them, the bearded man who had been holding Ye Wuyou hostage—were stupefied.
Of all those present, none was more shaken than An Lan.
When she saw Lord Rabbit arrive, she thought things were only going to get worse.
She was even ready to rush forward and defend Ye Wushang, knowing that as the eldest daughter of the An family, even a bold man like Zhang Black Hair wouldn’t dare touch her.
But now…
The situation had changed.
Just what was Ye Wushang’s background? How was he connected to Lord Rabbit?
She suddenly recalled something Ye Wushang had said before—he would handle this matter, and he liked it when others took the initiative.
“Out of the way!”
As everyone stood in stunned silence, Lord Rabbit shoved Zhang Black Hair aside and half-ran, half-sprinted over to Ye Wushang.
“I’m sorry, Mister Ye, for arriving late and causing you distress. Please forgive me.”
His manner was reverential, his tone filled with awe and respect.
The crowd grew ever more confused—what on earth was the connection between these two?
They had all thought Ye Wushang was a reckless fool, courting death by standing up to Zhang Black Hair.
But now, it was clear he had real strength and powerful allies—even Lord Rabbit deferred to him.
This young man was truly someone to reckon with!
“You are indeed late,” Ye Wushang said coolly. “We agreed on six o’clock, and it’s already seven. In any case, it hardly matters—you won’t be getting your medicine today. I’m no longer in the mood to sell it.”
“I just wanted to run a shop, but people came to extort protection money, took my sister hostage, and tried to force me to kneel. This world, it’s complicated indeed.”
His tone was calm, but beneath the words, his anger and discontent were unmistakable.
Hearing this, An Lan suddenly understood.
He hadn’t been lying—he really had sold medicine, and to Lord Rabbit, no less.
Everything made sense now, even the earlier comments Ye Wushang had made about Lord Rabbit’s health.
Clearly, they’d had private dealings.
“This Ye Wushang is interesting indeed. Calculating, composed, never losing his dignity—even when cornered, he finds a way out. What in this world could possibly frighten him?”
Without realizing it, her heart fluttered with admiration that grew ever stronger.
The more outstanding he proved himself, the more she was drawn to him—eager to approach, to understand, to protect, and perhaps even… to possess him.
“Mister Ye, please don’t be angry. Rest assured, I’ll handle this matter for you.”
Lord Rabbit was deeply anxious—Ye Wushang was his lifeline, worth any price.
With that, he turned with a steely glare to the bewildered Zhang Black Hair and roared, “Zhang Black Hair, get over here!”
“Lord Rabbit…”
Zhang Black Hair’s face was ashen, twisted with misery.
Who would have thought that this man was acquainted with Lord Rabbit, and that Lord Rabbit would bow and scrape before him?
Compared to Ye Wushang, he wasn’t even worthy of being a pinky finger. With a single word, Ye Wushang could ruin him forever.
Compared to repaying Sun Chuanzhi or avenging his brothers, he now cared more about Lord Rabbit’s favor.
Without a word of protest, he hurried forward, swallowing his humiliation, and said, “Lord Rabbit, what are your orders?”
Slap!
Another stinging slap landed on his face.
Before he could recover, a savage kick struck him between the legs.
He felt as though his manhood was shattered; his face turned beet-red with pain, but he dared not retaliate, only endured silently.
“Zhang Black Hair, have you lost your mind? Mister Ye is my benefactor—he can cure my illness and save my life. He’s dearer to me than my own parents! Yet you dare extort protection money from him, take his sister hostage, and force him to kneel and apologize?”
“If you don’t handle this matter to my satisfaction today, I’ll wipe out your entire family—do you believe me?”
Thud!
Terrified by Lord Rabbit’s wrath, Zhang Black Hair’s legs gave out and he fell to his knees, kowtowing repeatedly.
“Please calm your anger, Lord Rabbit, please! I truly didn’t know… I mean, I had no idea Mister Ye was so close to you! If I’d known, even with a hundred times more courage, I wouldn’t have dared!”
He suddenly shot a glare at the bearded man and bellowed, “You damned fool! Why are you still holding Miss Ye? Let her go—immediately!”
“Oh—yes, right!”
The bearded man was so scared he nearly wet himself.
He let go instinctively, and An Lan quickly pulled Ye Wuyou into her arms, asking with concern, “Wuyou, are you alright?”
“I—I’m fine.”
Ye Wuyou was still trembling in fear. “But my brother—”
“Let your brother handle this—it’s over now,” An Lan soothed, patting her back.
She then looked up and met Ye Wushang’s eyes; they exchanged a silent nod of understanding.
Afterward, Lord Rabbit bowed to Ye Wushang. “Mister Ye, your sister is safe now. I deeply apologize for the trouble Zhang Black Hair caused you, but please, reconsider and sell me the medicine. Everything here is yours to command. I promise—no one will dare defy you.”
Ye Wushang gave no reply.
He would, of course, treat Lord Rabbit—business was business, and who would refuse five million in cash?
“Lanlan, take Wuyou back inside to rest.”
Ye Wushang had already made up his mind, but some things shouldn’t be witnessed by his sister.
An Lan understood and, after helping Wuyou inside, Ye Wushang turned and walked toward the bearded man.
He bent down, picked up the knife from the ground, turned it in his hand, and asked, “Which hand did you use to hold my sister?”
“Uh, I…”
“Answer me,” Ye Wushang’s voice was sharp, his gaze murderous.
The bearded man glanced at Zhang Black Hair, but received no help—everyone was looking out for themselves now.
Terrified, he slowly extended his right hand—
Swish!
Before his hand was halfway out, Ye Wushang struck like lightning and sliced it off!
“Ah!”
The bearded man howled in pain as blood gushed from his severed wrist.
“Quiet.”
Ye Wushang’s voice was rough. “Which foot did you kick An Lan with?”
“M-my left… left foot…”
Swish!
Another clean cut—his left thigh was severed.
Hand and leg lay bloody on the ground. The bearded man, no longer able to support himself, collapsed in a pool of his own blood, pale and writhing in agony.
The crowd gasped in horror.
This young man was ruthless—decisive, merciless, and terrifyingly efficient.
Thank goodness none of them had crossed him, or they might be suffering the same fate.
“I spare your life, not out of mercy, but as a warning: you may insult me, beat me, but if you touch my family—especially my sister—you will not be forgiven. Living without hope of survival, unable to seek death—that’s the best punishment for someone like you.”
With that, Ye Wushang tossed the knife aside and turned to walk toward Zhang Black Hair.
