“Exactly!” Madam Fu immediately joined in. “With that rustic face of yours, I’m embarrassed to take you out to play mahjong with the wealthy ladies! I thought that if you could at least give Mingyue a son or daughter, it would be acceptable. But what happened?”
Madam Fu’s face was full of disdain. “You’ve been married for four years, and you still haven’t given me a grandson to hold. You’re nothing but a hen that can’t lay eggs. Tell me, what use are you? You’re utterly worthless, yet you still dare to ask for a share of the Fu family’s property? Have you no shame?”
Heh.
Ji Yunshuo nearly laughed.
The mockery in her eyes grew even sharper. “If I cared about money or the family fortune, then why did I marry Fu Mingyue four years ago, when the Fu family had gone bankrupt and was drowning in debt?”
Those indisputable words left all three members of the Fu family stunned for a moment.
Li Susu had been watching the spectacle for amusement, but the moment she heard that, panic seized her. She instinctively sensed that things were taking a bad turn.
“Now that the Fu Corporation is thriving, Fu Mingyue said he wanted a divorce, and I signed without hesitation. But the moment trouble arises, you want me to take the blame—and on top of that, you want to trample me into the dirt and declare me utterly worthless.
“What gives you the right? You’re only acting this way because my grandfather is gone, and neither my parents nor the rest of my family will stand up for me. So you think you can bully me and manipulate me however you please.”
“You…” Father Fu frowned, preparing to reprimand her.
Ji Yunshuo stared straight into his calculating eyes. “Is that not the truth? Dare you swear to Heaven that if you weren’t thinking exactly that, the Fu Corporation would immediately return to the state it was in four years ago?”
“How dare you!” Father Fu shouted furiously, humiliated by her words. “Is this how you speak to your elders?”
“The divorce agreement has already been signed. What kind of elder are you to me?” Ji Yunshuo found the question laughable. “Besides, when you were bullying and humiliating me, why didn’t you remember that you were my elder then?”
“Ji Yunshuo!” The air around Fu Mingyue turned icy. “Apologize!”
Ji Yunshuo looked at him coldly. “I don’t believe a single word I said was wrong.”
“If you keep acting this willfully, believe me, I’ll—”
“You’re not even giving me the thousand yuan, are you?” Ji Yunshuo cut him off with unmistakable sarcasm. “A thousand yuan is such a fortune. I suppose I should kneel down and thank you for your mercy. Even a beggar’s monthly income is higher than mine.”

“Yunshuo, you’ve never worked outside the home, so I’m afraid you don’t understand how difficult the workplace can be. With an education like yours—you didn’t even graduate from high school—you won’t be able to find a job at all. By then, you’ll realize that a thousand yuan isn’t so easy to earn.”
Li Susu spoke with a sigh. “Although I come from a good family, my parents taught us from childhood not to aim beyond our abilities. Even when I was abroad, I bought my own groceries and cooked for myself. Money really isn’t easy to earn, though it is easy to spend. You truly don’t know how blessed you are.”
Fu Mingyue listened with an expression of heartache. “Susu…”
“I don’t consider it suffering. Our family upbringing has always taught us that while we must be able to enter the highest circles and enjoy luxury, we must also be able to accept an ordinary life. Only then can we face the rise and fall of fortune with composure.” Li Susu spoke with impeccable refinement.
“And then, when the Fu family went bankrupt four years ago, you hurried to marry into another wealthy family. The conduct of the Li family clearly doesn’t match its principles,” Ji Yunshuo said, exposing the contradiction without mercy.
Li Susu’s expression changed instantly. “There was a reason for that. I…”
“You don’t need to explain yourself to her.” Fu Mingyue turned a frigid gaze on Ji Yunshuo. “I never realized how vicious your tongue was. No matter what you say today, you will sign the divorce agreement your father has prepared—the one that leaves you with nothing!”
“But Yunshuo’s hand…” Li Susu said, pretending to speak for Ji Yunshuo’s sake. “Her hand is injured, and so much has happened today. Why don’t we investigate everything properly before making a decision?”
“The Fu Corporation can’t afford to wait.” Father Fu had regained his imposing air as he looked at Ji Yunshuo. “If you refuse to sign this agreement today and do as I instruct, there are certain methods used in the business world that I would rather not employ against you. But don’t test my patience.”
Ji Yunshuo knew Father Fu’s methods all too well…
After she had been abandoned, hadn’t he once found people to force her into telling Grandpa Fu that she had gone abroad for medical treatment and would no longer be able to contact him, simply so that Grandpa Fu would stop worrying about her? If she refused, they would send her to northern Myanmar.
After that, Grandpa Fu had never called her again. Perhaps he was afraid of disturbing her treatment—or perhaps, given his poor health, he had died before she did.
In truth, even without being threatened, Ji Yunshuo had not wanted Grandpa Fu to worry about her.
Now, Ji Yunshuo took out her phone…
“What do you think you’re doing?!” Father Fu immediately barked.
Fu Mingyue also strode over in a few steps and reached for her phone.
“What, are you going to hit me again?” Ji Yunshuo tucked the phone against her chest and looked up at Fu Mingyue as he approached with a cold expression.

Fu Mingyue’s expression remained cold. “Stop trying to provoke my sympathy. Hand over the phone. I need to make sure you weren’t recording us.”
Ji Yunshuo found that absurd. “If I had been recording, would I have taken out my phone at a time like this?”
“Stop explaining. I don’t trust you. Give it to me, or don’t blame me for using force.” Fu Mingyue reached out his hand.
“How many times have you already used force against me?” Ji Yunshuo glanced at her phone. “The agreement you drafted was missing one clause. I merely added it for you. I’ve sent it over. Take a look.”
Fu Mingyue felt the phone vibrate. When he pulled it out, he saw that Ji Yunshuo had indeed sent him a document. Upon opening it, four words appeared: Divorce Agreement.
“Mr. Fu, if you want me to take the blame and ‘clarify’ everything, it would be best to let me do it willingly, wouldn’t you agree?” Ji Yunshuo faced Father Fu, her expression calm. “Sign my agreement, and as soon as the civil affairs bureau opens tomorrow morning, we’ll go and complete the formalities.
“After that, I’ll issue the clarification. The Fu Corporation’s stock price may be affected when the market opens, but once I post my statement, it will soar. That will also put the company back in the headlines, giving Fu Entertainment an opportunity to capitalize on the attention.”
Father Fu’s gaze turned icy. “So you’ve been pretending all along, waiting for this moment to make an outrageous demand. Let me advise you not to indulge in fantasies. You know perfectly well that your family doesn’t care about you. With the strength of the Fu family, making you disappear without a trace would be easy.
“As for where you might appear after disappearing, little girl, you should search for northern Myanmar and Southeast Asia. A person should have some reverence for consequences. Don’t be too ignorant.”
Fu Mingyue also looked at Ji Yunshuo with disappointment. “This time, I won’t indulge you any longer.”
“I say we shouldn’t waste our breath. Just send her to northern Myanmar. Once she comes back, she’ll know how to behave!” Madam Fu said impatiently.
Li Susu’s heart stirred. If Ji Yunshuo could truly be sent there, destroying her fortune and taking her spiritual eyes would be effortless.
What an excellent plan—and so direct and swift. It would prevent any unforeseen complications.
“Mingyue, I think Auntie is right. Yunshuo has been protected by you too well, which is why she dares to do so many shameless things. You have a responsibility to teach her properly. She still has such a long life ahead of her—how will she ever get through it like this?
“Send her to northern Myanmar. Once she realizes her mistake and understands the truth, bring her back home. It won’t be too late.”
Li Susu offered the suggestion as though she were thinking entirely of Ji Yunshuo’s welfare.
