Words Upon Launch

Building an Immortal Sanctuary in the Mortal World Fragrant sweat dampens her thin, cool robe. 1338 words 2026-04-11 18:33:34

Before I know it, the time for the official release has arrived (October 1st).

Launching a book I’ve written myself feels even more nerve-wracking than being caught in the act while hiding under the covers, only for the bedroom door to suddenly swing open.

First and foremost, I must thank my male readers: those who are fresh, handsome, extraordinary, wise, heroic, dashing, elegant, charismatic, wealthy, righteous, talented, and refined.

I am also deeply grateful to my female readers: those who are pure of heart, clever, breathtakingly beautiful, and peerlessly elegant. (There must be some of you, right?)

Without your support, this book would not be where it is today. Thank you so much!

Next, I must thank my editor, Xiao Feng, for pointing out my shortcomings, polishing my prose, and keeping the narrative on track. In short, my editor is incredibly responsible—and also quite a joker—to the point where he even infiltrated the reader group just to keep an eye on me.

P.S. The other day, when I was secretly looking at some "spicy" images, I suddenly saw him pop up in the chat, and it nearly scared the life out of me. (I'm using a dog-head emoji here to save my skin!)

Gratitude aside... let me talk about the turbulent emotional journey of a tender newcomer writing a book... and... offer an apology!

Initially, the reason I started this journey was that my family’s financial situation wasn't great, and since I love reading and enjoy writing, I thought I’d see if I could make some extra money to help support the family.

The hesitation when I first wanted to write, the panic after opening the book, the anxiety after receiving reader support—yes, anxiety, the fear of writing poorly and letting my readers down—and now, the nervousness about the official release; these feelings are truly hard to put into words.

At the beginning, writing some "risqué" content was easy... but as more and more readers started saying I’d be banned, that I wouldn't last a week or even half a month, and that they had already reported the book...

I panicked. I truly panicked.

Naturally, I also grew anxious. Whether it was the character Xu Boqing or myself, things felt rather awkward. In my haste, I wrote the plotline where he leaves the palace. I thought, "Let him leave the palace to avoid the spotlight, and I’ll avoid it, too."

Sometimes I was so anxious I was clawing at my scalp and couldn't sleep until the middle of the night, which is exactly why my update times became so erratic. Honestly, I kept writing, but it didn't feel quite right, and I believe some of you readers noticed that as well.

Here, I would like to apologize to all my readers. It was indeed my fault; I was too flustered and too hurried, failing to maintain the proper scale and rhythm.

Later, after chatting with my editor and some friends who are also authors, they encouraged me to write from my heart and not be anxious, which helped me realize where the problem lay.

Once again, thank you for your recognition and support! I am also grateful to my editor and friends for helping me adjust my mindset. I will do my absolute best to write a good story, not let you down, and I hope to walk this path with all of you!

Since we are finally going live, I might as well mention this...

Actually, this book could have launched on the Sanjiang recommendation list in the middle of the month, but at the time, the word count was too low. I thought there was still potential to be tapped, and since it was already the middle of the month, I delayed it a bit...

As a result, one delay led to another... and it ended up being pushed all the way to October 1st.

I hope that you brothers and sisters who read this book will consider supporting me with a subscription, just for the sake of the joy this story has brought you. (I’m begging you!)

I will release five chapters on the day of the launch, and I will try my best to maintain a daily update of at least 6,000 words thereafter.

I heard from a friend that monthly tickets are doubled during the seven-day National Day holiday, so I am brazenly asking for your monthly tickets as well.

Regarding extra updates for monthly tickets: I will add one chapter for every 500 monthly tickets during the National Day period. One chapter for a Hall Master donation, and five chapters for a League Master. I dare not even imagine anything beyond that.

If it really happens, please whip me mercilessly! Don't just treat me like a donkey on a production team—you can turn me into a donkey demon if you want!

P.S.: It’s the end of the month, please, I need those monthly tickets. And to the brothers who are "stockpiling" the book, please set up an auto-subscription. I’m begging you!
