As the dizziness of the space-time shift faded, Bruce finally exhaled in relief. It turned out that finding Superman really did mean he could return; before this, he had worried he might be forced to stay in that strange world for a long time.

He was in a rush to get back and continue arranging the script. The whole performance was already stumbling along—if the chief director suddenly disappeared for ten days or more, who knew what irreparable consequences would arise?

...Take the present moment, for example: here he was, helpless against a certain Boy Scout clinging to him, refusing to let go.

“Bruce, you’re finally back! Rao, when I suddenly realized you were missing just now, I was—”

Bruce stiffly looped his arm around Clark’s shoulder and gave a light pat. He didn’t want to admit that during their brief separation, he found himself missing this Superman who loved to smile and rarely scolded.

After holding him quietly for two seconds, Bruce’s rare softness vanished as he gently pushed the tall figure away from the hollow of his neck.

“That’s enough. Your character is the ageless old super, act more composed. It’s only been less than half an hour since we parted—don’t behave like a child.”

Clark refused to let go, burying himself deeper into the neck before him, unabashed.

“According to the character, I was frozen in the Arctic during my youth, right? I’ve been asleep all these decades—I’m still very young, okay?”

Bruce was too lazy to argue and had already begun multitasking.

On the surface, Batman and Superman had found a sufficiently safe place and were quietly exchanging information about this sudden isotopic crossover.

But privately, they had long since shared intelligence at the fastest speeds their minds could reach through their mental channel.

By now, their conversation had shifted in tone.

“Your world’s so-called best partners are ridiculous,” Bruce bluntly criticized. “They even harbor hostility toward each other!”

That grim Superman had originally looked at him with such a terrifying gaze, as if he might test the hardness of his iron fist at any moment.

“Uh... could that be the Batman v Superman from N52?” Clark furrowed his brow, trying to summon the scant DC knowledge in his brain while his super mind automatically replayed every expression and word that Batman had shown in front of him.

The Black Zero event...

Tearing open the car door...

Lex Luthor’s conspiracy...

“Ah! I remember now!” Clark’s eyes brightened suddenly, his small curls bouncing.

“Isn’t this the plot from BVS?”

But Rao, why does this Batman look so unlike Ben Affleck? And his eyes are blue...

No wonder he didn’t immediately connect it to the movie universe.

“The Batman and Superman relationship in the movie universe doesn’t follow the comics... but that doesn’t stop them from being the world’s best partners!” Clark finally relaxed and regained confidence in their own pairing, effortlessly teasing his childhood friend.

“I remember trying to recommend BVS to you for ages before you started cosplaying. Although the movie barely follows the comic storyline and many character settings are a bit off, you don’t even read comics, right? I thought starting with the movie would make it easier for you to accept, but you really didn’t watch it at all.”

Since diving into the fandom himself, Clark had persistently tried to pull Bruce into it as well, hoping for more shared topics.

Unfortunately, Bruce had steadfastly refused every recommendation.

This time was no different. Bruce pretended not to hear Clark’s complaints and moved on to the next topic.

Yet secretly, he felt a bit frustrated.

Had he known he would cross over, he would have watched the entire DCEU no matter what.

In fact, before Clark begged him to cosplay Batman, he had even bought a membership specifically for BVS.

But fearing Clark would discover he had watched the movie and use it as an excuse to drag him into cosplaying, he ultimately decided to hold off.

Unexpectedly, he ended up being dragged into cosplaying Batman anyway—and disastrously crossed over, forced to truly play the role.

As for why he didn’t tell Clark, firstly, because the incident was over and there was no point in bringing it up; secondly, because he didn’t want anyone to know about his foolish mistake.

Most importantly—

He didn’t want Clark to think he was ready to dive into DC just for him!

That guy always brightened up with the slightest encouragement, and whenever that goofy, smiling face circled around him, Bruce felt an unbearable itch in his heart—so he never wanted Clark to know whenever he did something for him.

In any case, the matter was now behind them. The world consciousness was slow to respond but confirmed the discovered breach had been sealed and no further isotopic crossovers would occur.

However, repairing the space-time barrier consumed a massive amount of energy from tonight’s plot points, so it urged Bruce to start the next phase of the story soon to generate new energy.

Thus, Bruce quickly switched into work mode, beginning to coordinate the script arrangements with all the cosplayers he could contact via their mental channel.

“Let those supervillain cosplayers scattered across different cities join forces to stir up trouble. This way, we can naturally unite the superheroes stationed in each city…”

“Oh! So the Justice League is finally forming?” The Nightwing cosplayer, as lively as his character, immediately got excited and accidentally let it slip in the channel.

Bruce—who knew only Batman and Superman and had no clue about the Justice League—frowned.

“The Justice League? Sounds so lame. Not as cool as the Avengers.”

Everyone else: [...]

Fortunately, Bruce changed the subject the next second.

“Forget it, let’s keep that name. But the formation of the league needs a catalyst.

Do we have anyone undercover in the government? Have them submit a proposal to form a superhero league.

That way, we can gather together under the leadership of a government official to fight unitedly. Once we defeat the supervillains, the superhero league plan should get approved…”

Clark’s unease grew. What proposal? Isn’t the Justice League an unofficial, non-government organization? And why did the script sound increasingly familiar?

He instinctively spoke up.

“Uh... wouldn’t it be better if the person submitting the proposal was a bald black guy?”

Others in the channel: *Pfft.*

“Ahahaha!” Even the usually composed Robin burst into thunderous laughter in the channel.

Apologizing frantically amidst the chaos, he thought to himself: how many more surprises will these two directors bring us?

When he first saw Bruce’s script, deciding not to spoil the story and just let it unfold was truly the right call!

Otherwise, how else would they have so much fun playing these roles in this world?
