Steve’s shield collided with the cult leader’s tentacles and then bounced right back into his hand. The cultist’s relentless assault continued, pressing forward toward Steve.

Using the momentum from the shield’s return, Steve leapt backward, narrowly evading the cult leader’s attack. The spot where Steve had just been standing was now shattered, a gaping hole punched through the floor. It was clear the cult leader had no intention of holding back.

“Hmph. I’ve heard of you so-called superheroes — nothing more than artificially manufactured inferior products. How could you possibly compare to the divine power bestowed upon me by my god?” the cult leader sneered, swinging his tentacles aggressively at Steve.

Dodging the flailing appendages, Steve retorted with a mocking tone, “If that’s the ‘divine power’ your god gave you, then you’d better surrender now. Let’s see what kind of monster your god has turned you into.”

“You know nothing!” The cult leader’s fury ignited at Steve’s taunts, his disdain for the hero’s mockery of his deity evident. “My power may be but a flicker compared to my god’s, but it grants me strength beyond that of mere mortals!”

“Sir, let us handle this blasphemer,” the cultists hissed, growing restless after Steve’s words. They drew their pistols, aiming them at Steve.

“Stand down. I will personally deal with our superhero guest. Surely, my god will be pleased with this sacrifice,” the cult leader declared, pulling off his black robe. Though his upper body remained humanoid, several tentacles had burst through his chest, coiling around his twisted and corrupted frame.

“Yes, honored emissary,” the other cultists responded with fanatic devotion, their eyes alight with zeal as they prepared to carry out the cult leader’s orders.

Steve moved to intercept them but was blocked by the cult leader, who snarled, “Now, witness true power!”

With a roar that echoed through the ruined cathedral, the cult leader’s lower garments exploded outward. From beneath, multiple tentacles surged forth like writhing octopus limbs, charging at Steve in unison.

“Oh damn, what kind of monster is this?” Steve muttered helplessly, shield raised against the overwhelming number of tentacles. Each limb was as thick as a thigh, leaving him no opening for a counterattack.

“Hahaha! Tremble in fear, Captain America. This is all you are,” the cult leader jeered. His lower half writhed like an octopus, tentacles slithering and entwining. Steve tried to maneuver so some tentacles would entangle themselves, but their slick, powerful bodies resisted any knots.

“Feel it yet? This is the power of the divine, Rogers. Human strength has limits — I have surpassed them!” the cult leader howled maniacally. The cathedral around them lay in ruins from their fierce battle.

“Hey, anyone hungry for a midnight snack? Grilled octopus sounds like a good idea,” Tony Stark’s voice rang out as he finally arrived, missiles exploding nearby. He eyed the tentacle-covered abomination on the ground with a mix of surprise and amusement.

“Cough, cough. Tony, you made it,” Steve said, brushing away dust as the church crumbled into rubble. The cult leader was buried beneath the debris.

Tony descended from the sky, looking toward Steve. “Wow, this monster’s got our captain in a real bind. Guess he’s not so simple after all.”

“I think you’re right, Tony Stark,” Steve replied, but before he could say more, the cult leader’s voice echoed again. From the heart of the explosion’s wreckage, the cult leader’s tentacles burst forth, lunging toward the two heroes.

Tony swiftly moved Steve away and launched several missiles at the tentacles. The explosions halted their advance, and the pair retreated about ten meters.

“Oh man, what’s going on here?” Tony grimaced, staring at the cult leader. “Looking at that mess, I’m thinking I’m going meat-free for a month.”

As the dust settled, the cult leader reappeared amidst the rubble. Tony’s missile strikes had made an impact — a huge hole gaped in the creature’s head, oozing red and white ichor. Burnt flesh lay scattered on the ground, a gruesome sight.

“I doubt the brain is his weak point, Tony,” Steve observed calmly. As a battle-hardened veteran, he had seen worse and remained composed.

“No need to repeat the obvious,” Tony rolled his eyes. “After all this time, you still haven’t figured out his weak spot?”

“Enough!” The cult leader interrupted furiously. “You insignificant insects dare harm my noble body? You will pay dearly!”

Tentacles surged wildly toward them. Steve exchanged a glance with Tony, handing off the main fight to him while slipping around to the cult leader’s back.

“Like you’d just let us go if we didn’t hurt you,” Tony taunted, dodging the flailing limbs and drawing their attention. “Oh, and by the way, damaging your brain probably lowered your IQ.”

“Arrgh! You’ll pay for that!” The cult leader roared, unleashing all his tentacles on Tony. Having fought creatures like Surtur before, Tony deftly evaded the smaller limbs, which couldn’t get close no matter how wildly they writhed.

“Alright, Kraken, I’ve got a present for you. Surtur didn’t like it, but let’s see if you do.” Tony soared into the sky and unleashed his high-energy laser beam.

“Ah! Damn it! Damn it!” The cult leader’s screams of agony were genuine this time, far worse than the missile blasts. The mutation howled in pain as the lasers seared his flesh.

While the cult leader struggled to block the beams with his tentacles, Steve slipped behind him. With a decisive thrust, Steve plunged his shield directly into the tentacle-covered chest.

When Tony spoke of a weak point, Steve had noticed the mass of tentacles sprouting from that spot. Though unfamiliar with such mutations, his instincts told him this was the cult leader’s vulnerability.

After exchanging a knowing glance with Tony, Steve circled around and drove his shield deep into that chest.

Just as Steve had predicted, the cult leader let out a piercing wail before collapsing in agony. The tentacles retracted into his body, and his limbsI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
