Chapter 54: The Energy Distribution Chamber
Returning from the Storm Islands, Liu Zong did not linger in his own space for long. He turned and leapt out, rushing at the fastest speed to the rented space with a yin attribute at Third High School in Yang City. Only upon entering this space did Liu Zong finally breathe a sigh of relief. The seed that had been wrapped around his hand, relentlessly absorbing the yin energy within him, now detached of its own accord and floated before him.
Now Liu Zong had the opportunity to study the seed closely. Since it had begun to sprout, the seed had grown noticeably smaller. Besides the slender main vine and two leaves emerging from its top, three purple roots had sprouted from its underside.
According to the books "Vine Growth and Energy Transmission" and "Experimental Records of the Seven Knights, Version IV—Green Vine," the direction of energy transmission through the vine’s roots is controllable, but the primary direction cannot be changed. This adjustment must be made before the seed is planted.
Generally, vine energy transmission offers two options. The first is the normal method: energy is absorbed through the roots and transmitted via the vine to the designated position. The second is the reverse: energy is absorbed through the leaves and then transmitted through the roots to the intended location.
In typical circumstances, most would choose the first method, ensuring ample energy as long as the vine remains grounded. However, for Liu Zong, the second method is more suitable. He also knows the seed may require further adjustment.
Fortunately, supported by "Vine Growth and Energy Transmission" and "Experimental Records of the Seven Knights, Version IV—Green Vine," and having previously studied relevant materials, Liu Zong already has a plan for handling the vine.
When the "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed" detached from his hand, he immediately guided it toward the heart of the Canglong. Liu Zong had previously transformed the Canglong’s heart into an energy distribution chamber resembling a temple, though he never intended to turn the heart into a temple. At that time, he was only beginning to study architecture and had limited mastery over various structures, with just a few blueprints for energy distribution chambers. Of those, the current one was the most pleasing to his eye.
Now, it seemed to be the best choice. Beneath the heart, Liu Zong had left a shallow pool space. With a wave of his hand, he opened this space and guided the "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed" into it.
At the instant the seed entered, an electronic screen appeared before Liu Zong, displaying the layout of the energy distribution chamber with three empty slots.
The central slot was labeled "Energy Storage Center," already occupied by the virtual image of the heart-temple, accompanied by a data readout (0/1000). Below it, the slot was marked "Energy Transfer Hub," now replaced by the virtual image of the "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed," which bore a faint gold Lv3 symbol, distinguishing it from the heart-temple’s image. The top slot was labeled "Energy Conversion System," and remained empty for now.
Yet Liu Zong had no intention of leaving it vacant. Raising his hand, a pale gold card appeared within it. This was the card of the "Great Jar." After producing it, Liu Zong simply loosened his grip, and a jar taller than himself materialized before him.
This jar was large enough for three people to encircle, its body deep red as if soaked in blood, adorned with simple patterns. Upon its appearance, Liu Zong placed it in the center of the heart-temple’s hall. At the moment the jar settled, the final slot on the energy distribution chamber’s layout was filled. Like the "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed," the virtual image of the "Great Jar" also bore a pale gold Lv3 symbol.
Having completed these steps, Liu Zong quickly retreated to a spot about twenty meters from the heart-temple. There, he selected a combination button on the screen, initiating the formal integration of his energy distribution chamber.
On the screen, the virtual images of the "Great Jar," "Heart Temple," and "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed" circled endlessly. But twenty meters away from Liu Zong, reality unfolded quite differently.
In the space beneath the temple, the "Yin-Sprouted Vine Seed" seemed to receive some stimulus, sprouting rapidly. Its purple roots swelled and elongated, emerging from below the temple and splitting into seven branches. The main vine, too, expanded, with seven arm-thick vines breaking through the temple walls and crawling across its exterior.
Almost instantly, the temple’s exterior was covered with palm-sized purple leaves, rendering the entire structure as if it were shrouded in violet.
Yet the most astonishing aspect was not this. At the temple’s summit, each of the seven vines branched again, with the main branches dangling through the temple’s openings into the hall and wrapping directly around the Great Jar.
The moment the vines entwined the jar, the white, fine-haired tendrils on the underside of the leaves fused the vines and jar together. Just as they had absorbed Liu Zong’s yin energy earlier, they forcibly drew energy from within the jar.
Within this Great Jar was stored the blood of a goddess. The vine’s forced absorption could only draw a tiny bit of energy, but even that was sufficient.
This trace of yin energy, influenced by the goddess’s blood, carried a faint golden hue, slowly flowing along the vine, entering the space below the temple walls, then traveling outward through the vine’s roots.
Currently, the roots were not connected to any other structures, so this energy could not be sent out and instead accumulated in the space beneath the temple.
But this was not the final transformation. The floor of the temple hall had begun to rise slightly, as three roots grew upward, spiraling around the Great Jar, and eventually disappearing into its mouth. The energy just absorbed traveled along these roots and entered the jar’s interior.
It was clear that from the fine-haired vines forcibly siphoning energy from the jar’s exterior to the energy returning to the jar’s interior, the cycle took about ten minutes.
After two such cycles, Liu Zong finally received a notification.
[Energy Distribution Chamber]
[Quality: Lv2 (pale gold), upgradable] (Demoted from Lv3 to Lv2, so it can be upgraded back through certain means)
[Function: Yin energy conversion] (Can convert all energy into yin energy)
[Function: Divine blood erosion (0.01%)] (Due to the large quantity of goddess blood stored in the Great Jar, for every ten thousand units of yin energy converted, one unit of divine energy is produced, which prioritizes strengthening chamber components)
[Capacity: 0/5000]
