Huo Hongfei replied respectfully, “The elder has gone to the volcanic crater.”
Upon hearing this, Fang Zhiyi’s brows furrowed slightly. “Take them and leave first. Remember, no matter what happens, do not stop.”
Huo Hongfei’s expression turned serious upon hearing Fang Zhiyi’s words. “But Elder Fang, what about you?”
Fang Zhiyi said, “I am going to bring Feng Luan back. You take care of the disciples.”
Originally, the task of leading all the disciples to leave the War God Hall was assigned to both him and Feng Luan. Now that Feng Luan had gone to the volcanic crater, this responsibility was left solely to him, causing an immediate surge of pressure on Huo Hongfei.
His tone was solemn as he replied, “Elder Fang, rest assured, I, Huo Hongfei, will definitely ensure the safe departure of all War God Hall disciples, even if it costs my life.”
Fang Zhiyi’s gaze settled on Huo Hongfei; today she regarded him with a newfound respect.
Huo Hongfei was usually slick in his dealings—he fawned endlessly over powerful beings like her but was arrogant toward those weaker than himself.
Because of this, his reputation within the War God Hall was not particularly good.
Yet, such a person now made this solemn promise, which unexpectedly moved Fang Zhiyi deeply.
A flicker of worry arose in her heart. She had long anticipated the disaster facing the Huofen Kingdom and had already spoken to Feng Luan about it.
In truth, this was not her concern, but Fang Zhiyi was not an indifferent person. After so many years in the War God Hall, it had become her home.
Moreover, she regarded Feng Luan as family—a friend, even like a caring elder sister.
The calamity looming over the Huofen Kingdom was severe, and out of concern, she had once divined Feng Luan’s fate, which hinted at mortal peril.
Therefore, she had previously instructed Feng Luan to take charge of leading the War God Hall disciples out of the kingdom.
However, Fang Zhiyi did not expect that despite her repeated warnings, Feng Luan would resolutely go to the volcanic crater. Fortunately, she came to check on her; otherwise, she would regret it deeply in the future.
Fang Zhiyi dared not delay. Fearing for Feng Luan’s safety and sensing the calamity foretold in her fate, she had given her a fragrant sachet. Relying on the connection to the sachet, Fang Zhiyi set off directly toward Feng Luan’s location.

Fang Zhiyi moved swiftly, but naturally, Wang Lin, who was in the late Foundation Establishment stage, could not keep up.
Frowning slightly, she glanced back at Wang Lin with some disdain, then without hesitation reached out and grabbed the back of his collar. Before he could react, they had already flown hundreds of miles in an instant.
The last time Wang Lin was lifted like this was when he was a mischievous child being scolded by his father.
For a moment, his thoughts drifted back to those days when his parents were still around.
But soon, Wang Lin realized this was no time for sentimentality.
What lay ahead shocked not only Wang Lin but even Fang Zhiyi, who was at the Metamorphosis stage.
As they neared the volcano, the thick smell of sulfur filled the air, causing involuntary frowns.
It was the ominous sign before a volcanic eruption, suffocating and heavy.
Ash began to fall like a strange snow, coating the verdant grass and trees. The sky darkened, and a dead silence enveloped the surroundings.
Looking down, the magma churned, emitting a dazzling red glow. At first, Wang Lin thought his eyes deceived him, but upon closer inspection, he saw the fire beasts.
Their numbers were staggering. Should they break free, combined with the eruption, all life nearby would be consumed.
Suddenly, the ground trembled.
A rumbling sound echoed from deep within the mountain, like the roar of a giant beast or the deepest drumbeats of the earth.
Around the volcano, numerous Nascent Soul masters from various sects lingered.
Soon, Fang Zhiyi spotted several Nascent Soul masters from the War God Hall among them, with Feng Luan present.
Without hesitation, she hurried toward Feng Luan.
The arrival of Fang Zhiyi instantly lit up the eyes of the masters from other sects. They had heard rumors of a powerful Metamorphosis stage expert concealed within the War God Hall.
If such a master could join the sealing of the volcano, the eruption could surely be prevented.
They had already placed a seal on the volcano, but the atmosphere soon turned grave—this time was different.
Countless fire beasts lurked within the volcano, silently watching the Nascent Soul masters’ sealing efforts, clearly disregarding the seal.

Seeing Fang Zhiyi arrive, Feng Luan felt a surge of dread. She stepped forward quickly, blocking the others’ view of Fang Zhiyi, and whispered, “Why have you come? Didn’t I tell you to leave Huofen Kingdom with the War God Hall disciples?”
Fang Zhiyi sighed deeply. Her usually cold, indifferent eyes softened for the first time. She said, “And you? Didn’t I tell you not to get involved in today’s matters and to lead the War God Hall disciples to safety?”
Feng Luan’s expression grew uneasy as she lowered her head. “Zhiyi, you know, I grew up in the Huofen Kingdom. If it weren’t for dire necessity, I would never want to see everything destroyed.”
Fang Zhiyi fell silent, understanding Feng Luan’s feelings.
Some things, though destined by heaven, are rejected by those who refuse to accept fate.
They strive to defy the heavens, but such defiance only leads to a dead end.
The Way of Heaven does not tolerate those who oppose it.
Once, Fang Zhiyi had also believed that humans could conquer destiny.
But later, she realized how foolish she had been. The Way of Heaven is the supreme law governing all things in the universe: those who follow prosper, those who resist perish.
Yet it is not so simple. The Way of Heaven allows no rebellion; no one can challenge its authority. It knows your deepest fears.
After defying it, not only you suffer, but those around you as well.
Fang Zhiyi had personally experienced this. Since then, she never tried to change her fate or oppose the Way of Heaven again. She did not want to endure that heart-wrenching pain a second time.
Shaking her head, Fang Zhiyi looked at Feng Luan with worry and gently urged, “It’s useless, Feng Luan. Whatever you do now is futile. These fire beasts, this volcano—they cannot be sealed.”
“For now, the only option is to leave quickly and preserve your life.”
At that moment, not far off, the volcano that had just been sealed by a Nascent Soul cultivator erupted instantly, spewing magma hundreds of feet into the air.
