Chapter 24: The Necrotic Warrior Goes on a Rampage!
Ever since Lu Ming discovered he could switch freely between his past-life account and the original owner’s current one at any time, he began to put a plan into motion. Before joining Ye Chen at the Bloody Forbidden Zone, Lu Ming had intentionally played it safe by logging into "Tianyuan" using the original owner’s identification number.
As expected, before entering the dungeon, Ye Chen insisted on inspecting all of Lu Ming’s data. Although the accounts and characters differed, because Lu Ming was the one controlling them, the two characters shared the same level. Therefore, the Level 10 Second-Tier Array Trickster "Dawn" and the one-star aptitude account Ye Chen saw were, in fact, Lu Ming’s alt account.
But now, Lu Ming remained the same, yet his account had been switched to his main one: "Netherworld." While Ye Chen and his group were struggling to fight monsters, Lu Ming, under the guise of slacking off, began to exert his mental will in the rear without anyone noticing.
"As long as I stay within a 500-yard range, I can summon Undead Warriors to any location." With this thought, Lu Ming closed his eyes and used his will to lock onto the furthest distance from himself to summon his forces.
In an instant, countless vortexes flowing with silver light bloomed across the dungeon map, 400 to 500 yards away from Ye Chen’s group. One by one, Tier 2 Undead Warriors clad in silver armor tore through space and stepped out of the vortexes. Through shared vision, real-time images of every corner of the Bloody Forbidden Zone flooded Lu Ming’s mind. Simultaneously, Lu Ming opened the settings panel and toggled skill effects to "None."
The next moment, he activated "War Stomp" and "Fortress of Life" where he stood.
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Two invisible formations bloomed beneath Lu Ming’s feet, blanketing a massive area with a 1,000-yard radius. "Kill monsters and search for forbidden items freely within a range of 300 to 500 yards from me."
With Lu Ming’s mental command, the two hundred Undead Warriors scattered throughout the dungeon immediately sprang into action. Through their shared vision, Lu Ming saw a vampire respawn within 50 yards of one of the Undead Warriors. The warrior immediately raised its silver longsword and unleashed the skill "Soul Shatter" upon the vampire.
*Hum!*
A flickering blood-red soul mark appeared on the vampire’s chest. The vampire, seemingly sensing something amiss, looked down at the mark on its chest in confusion. Before it could react—
*Slash!*
The Undead Warrior launched a "Flash Strike," instantly teleporting from over 40 yards away to stand right before the marked vampire. With a swift swing, the blade pierced through the vampire’s body.
-1962!
The massive blood-red damage instantly emptied the vampire’s full health bar. The poor creature, having respawned less than a second ago, dissolved into a pool of blood before it even realized what had happened. Seeing the damage dealt by the Undead Warrior, Lu Ming couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.
"After my 'All-Encompassing Amplification' talent upgraded to Level 2, my skill effects have increased from the original 10-fold to 20-fold. This means the attack bonus War Stomp provides to the Undead Warriors has risen from a base of 10% attack plus 50, to 200% attack plus 1,000 points!"
Furthermore, the extra damage bonus granted to the Undead Warriors by the "Slaughter" skill on the Slayer’s Belt had surged from 2% of the Array Trickster’s maximum HP to 40%! With an attack power reaching 1,240 points combined with 464 points of damage amplification, the killing power of the Undead Warriors had reached an astonishing level.
After breaking through from Tier 1 Undead Soldiers to Tier 2 Undead Warriors, the newly learned "Soul Shatter" skill not only looked impressive but also allowed the warriors to kill enemies quickly from a distance, making their monster-slaying efficiency even higher.
In such an extreme state, the two hundred Undead Warriors were like gods in a deserted land, slaughtering their way through the vampire territory with no equal. In the sprawling Old City district, aside from the small area occupied by Ye Chen’s group, over 90% of the surrounding region had been completely conquered by the Undead Warriors.
Within that sole remaining area not yet occupied by the Undead Warriors, Ye Chen and the others from Sunset had just finished off a group of vampires. As he used a potion to restore his mana, Ye Chen glanced back at Lu Ming, who was standing there dozing off, his eyes filled with disgust. "What an absolute loser, just like my sister’s useless ex-boyfriend, Lu Ming."
What Ye Chen didn't realize was that even though Lu Ming was dozing off, his experience bar was skyrocketing!
[Ding! Killed Level 10 Vampire, Experience +50!]
[Ding! Killed Level 10 Vampire, Experience +50!]
[Ding! Killed Level 10 Vampire, Experience +50!]
...
Because Lu Ming’s alt account, "Dawn," was the one in the party with Ye Chen, switching to his main account now meant he was effectively solo-grinding. All the spoils from the Undead Warriors' kills went to Lu Ming alone; Ye Chen and his group didn't get a single point. Lu Ming had also switched auto-leveling to manual, so he didn't have to worry about leveling up and exposing his true strength.
When a player’s experience bar is full, they usually level up automatically. If switched to manual, the player can continue to accumulate experience beyond the bar, up to three times the amount required for the current level. This was a common tactic used by veteran players and power-leveling services to cap their levels.
The Undead Warriors were fully automated in killing monsters, picking up loot, and searching for forbidden items. They could even handle refining the vampire corpses, leaving Lu Ming with nothing to worry about.
As a result, while the Undead Warriors were going on a killing spree in the outer areas, Ye Chen and his team were still slowly grinding one or two vampires at a time. It wasn't that they wanted to be slow; it was simply their limit. Lu Ming was slacking off, Qingyan was half-slacking, Luo was a priest with no damage, and Sunset was a knight focused solely on tanking. Essentially, only Ye Chen was dealing damage. In this environment, efficiency was naturally low.
After ten minutes of fighting, they hadn't killed many monsters, and the dungeon quest had made zero progress. Ye Chen was on the verge of a breakdown. "Can you two be of any use?"
Facing Ye Chen’s questioning, Qingyan smiled faintly and retorted with a sarcastic tone: "You’re the one who’s useful, aren't you? Aren't you the one who guaranteed you’d lead us to an Epic-level clear? You wouldn't happen to be... incompetent, would you?"
Ye Chen’s face flushed red. "Who... who said I’m incompetent! If it weren't for you two dead weights being useless, we would have found the forbidden item already!"
As he spoke, Sunset’s voice suddenly rang out from behind. "Strange, how come there are no monsters in this area?"
Looking around, it was true. Just a moment ago, they would run into a group of vampires every few steps. But here, the streets and alleys were deathly silent; not a single shadow of a vampire could be seen. It was as if someone had cleared out this entire area before they arrived.
At the same time, Sunset made a shocking discovery. He walked over to a telephone pole and tore off a scroll tied to it. Glaring at the scroll with eyes full of excitement, he shouted: "Forbidden Item: Blood Curse! Found it!!"
