Chapter 7: The Little Fox Spirit, Ye Lingyin
At first, she harbored deep reservations about Han Yang, even contemplating ending his life. Yet the boy’s astonishing talent was undeniable—he had swiftly broken through to the second level of the Vajra Immovability Technique in such a short time. Such potential commanded even her cautious respect.
“This Han Yang…” she murmured, weighing the pros and cons within her mind.
After much deliberation, Li Xueqing decided to temporarily set aside their past grievances and instead seek to win Han Yang over. After all, a prodigy with limitless potential, if brought to her side, would undoubtedly be a great asset to the Blissful Immortal Sect.
With that in mind, she summoned Han Yang.
When Han Yang arrived at the sect leader’s grand hall, he saw Li Xueqing seated regally on the throne, clad in red.
“Protector Han, your reputation has recently spread far and wide,” she said.
“Uh… Sect Leader, you flatter me. It’s merely good fortune,” Han Yang replied, nearly slipping out a cheeky insult before the assembly of elders.
Li Xueqing chuckled softly. “Protector Han, to possess such cultivation at your age is truly rare. Our sect intends to entrust you with a significant responsibility. Are you willing to accept it?”
“Please give your orders, Sect Leader.”
“Currently, the Blissful Immortal Sect is in need of talent. We have decided to appoint you in charge of recruiting new disciples.”
She paused before continuing, “This matter concerns the sect’s future development. I hope you will dedicate yourself wholeheartedly.”
Han Yang cursed inwardly; that old crafty woman really knew how to scheme—passing off the thankless task of recruiting disciples to him.
But outwardly, he respectfully agreed, “I will do my utmost to live up to the Sect Leader’s expectations.”
Li Xueqing nodded with satisfaction and waved him off, “You may go.”
Beneath the scorching sun and amidst the incessant chirping of cicadas, at the foot of the Blissful Immortal Sect’s mountain, Han Yang leaned lazily against a simple wooden table.
In his hand was a palm fan, flicking idly; before him lay a halved watermelon, its bright red juice dripping from his mouth and staining his chest.
Beside him stood a wooden signboard inscribed with bold, flamboyant characters:
“Blissful Immortal Sect Recruiting Disciples: Female only, seven-head figure, B cup or above, fair-skinned and beautiful.”
Once posted, the once steady stream of hopefuls quickly thinned.
After the defeat of the Tianyang Gate, the Blissful Immortal Sect had become the sole sect in the Northern Domain. People flocked here daily, but now, deterred by the harsh conditions, many turned away.
A burly man with a thick beard approached, his voice gruff: “Young brother, is what’s written on this signboard true? These requirements are too…”
Han Yang didn’t look up, lazily spitting out a watermelon seed. “What? Got a problem with that?”
The man was momentarily choked and muttered awkwardly, “I just feel these conditions are a bit too harsh. Us men also have burning passion, seeking to cultivate immortality and enlightenment…”
“Seeking cultivation and enlightenment? Go try the brothel next door; it suits you better,” Han Yang sneered, biting into the watermelon fiercely.
The man’s face flushed red as he stormed off, grumbling, “What a bully, abusing his influence!”
One after another, unsuitable female applicants came forward, all coldly rejected by Han Yang without mercy.
Soon, gossip and murmurs spread at the mountain’s base, criticizing Han Yang’s arrogance and recklessness.
“That brat, riding on the Sect Leader’s favor, acts without restraint!”
“Exactly, ruining the sect’s reputation!”
The rejected male disciples gathered, faces dark with resentment.
“This won’t do! We have to teach him a lesson!”
“Yeah! Let him know the Blissful Immortal Sect isn’t a place for him to do as he pleases!”
Meanwhile, the female applicants who met the criteria coquettishly flirted with Han Yang, vying for his attention as if willing to throw themselves at him.
“Big brother, how about me? I’m naturally beautiful, and a D cup~” a scantily clad woman purred, twisting her waist.
Han Yang sized her up with a lascivious glance. “Nice face, but the chest is fake. Next!”
The woman stomped angrily but dared not cause a scene, sulking away.
…
The sunset’s glow bathed the foot of the mountain, casting a golden light on Han Yang’s face.
He idly picked at his teeth, holding the signboard with its absurd recruitment terms, preparing to pack up and leave.
Just then, a fragrant breeze arrived, and a graceful woman appeared before him.
She was like a fairy stepped out from a painting.
Her hair flowed like a black waterfall, swaying with every step, dazzling his eyes.
She wore a purple dress that looked plain at first glance, yet possessed an undeniable air of elegance.
A strangely pleasant scent wafted from her, so intoxicating Han Yang nearly fainted from comfort.
Previously exhausted to the point of near collapse, Han Yang suddenly perked up, his heart pounding wildly.
The watermelon in his hand dropped to the ground with a splash, its red juice staining his trousers, unnoticed by him.
She approached Han Yang, slightly bowed, and parted her ruby lips:
“I am the little fox demon Ye Lingyin. I have heard the Blissful Immortal Sect is recruiting disciples and have come to apprentice and learn.”
Only then did Han Yang regain composure. Hastily wiping the watermelon juice from his mouth, he cleared his throat awkwardly:
“Cough, cough… do you… do you meet the requirements?”
Ye Lingyin smiled sweetly, radiating irresistible charm.
“Elders, please take a look.”
She twirled gently, showcasing her flawless figure.
Her slender waist, ample bosom, and long, shapely legs stirred desire in any onlooker.
Han Yang’s eyes went wide; he was nearly drooling.
He stammered, “M-meet… meet them! Of course! Don’t even say B cup, you’re at least an E cup, cough cough…”
At that moment, a discordant voice shattered the pleasant scene.
A young man clad in a brocade robe strode over arrogantly, followed by several lackeys. He was a spoiled noble brat.
This man was Zhao Tianba, son of an elder of the Blissful Immortal Sect. Relying on his father’s influence, he acted tyrannically, bullying demons and fox spirits alike, committing all manner of misdeeds.
Zhao Tianba’s gaze immediately fell on Ye Lingyin, greed flashing in his eyes at her beauty.
Approaching her, he leered and said with a lewd tone:
“Miss, you’re here to apprentice and learn? Why not be my disciple instead? I guarantee you’ll enjoy all the wealth and glory within the Blissful Immortal Sect, heh heh heh…”
He even reached out with a lecherous hand to grope her face.
Ye Lingyin frowned slightly, stepping back deftly to evade Zhao Tianba’s grasp.
His expression darkened with rage.
“How dare you refuse me? Do you know who I am? My father is—”
Han Yang stepped forward, placing himself protectively before Ye Lingyin, sneering coldly:
“Zhao Tianba, abusing your power again? Take a good look at yourself! With your twisted face and rotten character, you’re nothing but a toad lusting after a swan!”
“Han Yang! Don’t think you can meddle in my affairs just because you have the Sect Leader’s favor,” Zhao Tianba roared, pointing a finger in Han Yang’s face.
“You’re just a useless nobody riding on nepotism, yet you dare challenge me? Want to see if I make my father expel you from the sect?”
“Oh? How frightening. Your father must be applauding you for your endless boasting.”
Startled by Han Yang’s glare, Zhao Tianba quickly regained his composure, his face flushed with fury as he shouted:
“Attack! Kill this insolent fool!”
His lackeys immediately clenched their fists and lunged at Han Yang.
Han Yang sneered coldly, disdain flashing in his eyes.
He had been looking for an excuse to test his newly acquired “Heavenly Fate Mysterious Bird” power…
